We recently had the opportunity to dine at Tsunami Sushi in Baton Rouge on Lafayette St. And what made this dining experience truly special was that I brought along my water damage restoration crew for a well-deserved lunch break.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the great atmosphere and an excellent view that overlooked downtown Baton Rouge and the Mississippi River. Despite needing to be dressed in the proper attire, the staff made us feel very welcome, ensuring that our visit started off on the right foot.
We were promptly seated, and our server, a trainee accompanied by his trainer, efficiently took our orders. Despite being new, they handled our table with aplomb, ensuring that all our orders were accurate and delivered promptly from the kitchen. As a group of six, we appreciated receiving everything together, allowing us to enjoy our meal without any delays.
Now, let’s talk about the food. We ordered a variety of dishes, including dumplings and an assortment of sushi rolls. The Black and Gold roll was a standout, with its flavors leaving us wanting more. Additionally, we had the pleasure of trying the Candy Cane roll, a particular item not on the menu anymore but highly recommended by our waitress.
The service at Tsunami Sushi was exemplary, with the staff being knowledgeable and welcoming throughout our meal. Special mention goes to Matt at the bar, who went above and beyond to ensure that my crew’s dining experience was top-notch. He even helped us navigate the menu to accommodate a shellfish allergy, making our visit truly memorable.
Overall, Tsunami Sushi in Baton Rouge exceeded our expectations in every way. From the outstanding fresh sushi to the excellent drink selection and friendly service, it’s clear why this restaurant has garnered rave reviews. I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time to secure a table at this culinary gem, and when you visit, don’t forget to ask for Matt at the bar. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
